I have 2 - 2009 AI's. On the newest one it looks like the seat (where the top of rudder contacts the boat mounted body) has been cut/modified. On the older boat this area has a slight hook in the plastic and the newer boat looks like the hook has been shaved off. The only reason I noticed it was that my friend that was sailing the older boat could not pull the rudder up. We beached it and it seemed that the rudder was hanging up on this small hook in the plastic. When I got home I looked closely and noticed the difference between the two assemblys. Matt, any changes here that you are aware of? Is it OK to shave that area off in the older boat? |
