I was wondering if a Mirage drive unit could be installed into a non-hobie kayak. I have been dying to get a sport just for the excercise alone, if not the fishing-yet I can't seem to save the clams for it. Has anyone retrofitted one of these units into a Wilderness Systems, Old Town or other brand that is not custom made at home? I could get the drive alone, but I don't know if such a thing is feasible. Anyone have experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Interesting.....thanks. Problem is, though, that the Rob Roy canoe costs more by itself than the most expensive Hobie 'yak with the mirage system. Would be an option, though, if I could get a steal on a used one. |
