Post subject:  TI rudder control has been repaired - works better

Just wanted to give a shout out to Dan Hammack at Backyard Boats in Woodbridge, VA. He repaired/restrung my rudder control lines from last weekend and now they're working beautifully - even better than when we picked up the TI brand new. The roughness is gone, twisting the rudder from side-to-side is *much* smoother, and control to starboard under load is *much* easier.

We sailed close to 30 miles total over both days this past weekend, with a top speed of 5.8 mph. Wind conditions were as high as 13 mph reported, with occasional white caps and 1-2 foot chop. The new lines took it all and didn't feel strained as they had previously.

Dunno what Dan's magic sauce is, but it really helped!

Good news. Of course, would like to know what the magic trick is to make it work.

Hi Mitch.

Any details you can provide us about Dan's magic with the Tandem rudders would be appreciated.

Dunno the details myself since he did the repairs after I dropped the TI off for a few days. I'll ask him to see if he will post his solution.
