As you are probably aware, there is a small hole in the bottom of the mast holder that the pin on the bottom of the mast fits into. If some debris got into the hole it can prevent the mast from fully seating. On our Everglades trips it tends to be sand. Check it out. Also, if there is debris in the hole and you do manage to push the mast hard enough to snap in place the added pressure on the mast lock may cause it to be REALLY difficult to get it to unlock later. |

Only early models have a female connection in the receiver... newer models are male with the female in the mast base. |

What year model? Only older crossbar versions (not V2) can be adjusted. V2 crossbar bolts to the receiver and stays constant. If not locking in, the mast is not getting far enough down, so place the mast in the receiver... adjust the "V" brace to force the receiver lower until the stainless tab locks the mast in. |

V2 only started on AIs for 2011, to you should be able to adjust this one with the "V" brace. |
