This summer after each outing my hull has been full of water. This weekend, while on dry land, I filled the hull with water to see if there were any leaks. I found the hull is cracked where the seat fittings fit in. This summer I also started using the new screw in type seat fittings. I can repair hull, however I'm afraid that this is a stress point where the new fittings will just keep cracking the hull again. Does anyone have any ideas?

The two sockets in the deck that receive the pegs on the underside of the seat? Here's what I would do if I were in your position. As an interim measure, fill the sockets with marine goop, plug in the seat and leave it there see if it helps next time you go out. Next talk to your dealer, last time I had a hull problem Hobie were incredibly supportive. Good luck.

These cracks have been successfully repaired using PVC endcaps and Scotchweld DP8010 epoxy. :)

Thanks for your suggestions. I will use the 3/4 pvc end cap method. Does anyone know if you can still use the seat peg holes after this repair?

Yes... does not change the use of the peg hole.

Hi Matt my AI is still under warranty, what am I likely to receive, a new hull or a Hobie repair kit?

Simple / small cracks in seat peg holes are repaired with the caps. We would continue to monitor the issue and if you had further problems there... we would keep this initial claim in mind when deciding coverage.

Thanks Matt, on closer inspection i'm not so sure my seat peg crack is a simple one as it extends under/towards my seat IE out of the peg :(
