I purchased the livewell in December and only used it 2 times (1-freshwater 1-Saltwater) and now the pump is shot. Questions:
1) Is the Attwood Tsunami rated for Salt Water use?
2) Shouldn't the connection be fused?

3. Surely Hobie will sort it out under warranty? :P

After use in salt water you need to rinse with fresh water - and spray a little WD 40 (on the on/off switch too) - not a common failure - we sell hundreds of these annually - and the Atwood pump is pretty much the industry standard, nothing defective about those pumps.

Sometimes if it's not working you can lube it up and it will start tight up too.. try that before giving up hope.
Yes, the kit has a warranty like an Hobie product (2 years from time of purchase)- to get it fixed you contact a dealer. (like always)

Thanks for the assistance Jacques.
I am soaking the pump in fresh water and will try the lube approach tonight when I get home from work.

On the fuse issue. I looked at the installation instructions for an Attwood 500, and it says it needs to be fused (2.5A). My unit came without a fuse?.

Also, in removing the pump I had to clip the wires to the connector in the battery box. Would you happen to know what MFG/Model connector it is?

Thanks in advance

Well, after the fresh water bath and a shot of WD40 to the impeller the thing fired right up. Lesson learned on my part about salt water.

Thanks for the advice

Good to hear - glad that you got it working again.... we really should put that little tip in the owner's manual (if it isn't already) - not that anyone ever looks at that once they put the thing in use - I know I never read a manual on anything I buy - but it's worth a shot.
