Just wondering, Can the PA rudder system handle a 30lbs or more trolling motor?

Not sure what the question is...

The rudder can be used to steer regardless of the power input... MirageDrive, Paddle or motor. I would not mount a motor on any of the rudder hardware.

Matt, thanks for the reply. Yes just withstand the power output of a motor. No mounting of anything on the rudder. I liked the idea of haveing a motor that drops into the drive well and steering with the rudder. I'm still holding out to see what Hobie comes up with.

is the PA rectractable rudder a modular unit that can be purchased separately?

It would be perfect for my next home built Mirage powered boat, so would the cool mesh seats.

Thanks, Mack

The rudder components would be available as spares. The next catalog will include a break down of the boats parts.

Is there any place to see a drawing of the PA rudder? My 19' stripped planked, designed for Mirage drives hull is nearing the decking stage. I think the PA rudder and seats might make me change my plans. Thanks!

The next catalog

The "next" catalog will be in the fall. I placed the parts diagram onto our support pages soon. This does include a breakdown of the rudder components.

Thank you Matt. I've been trying to develop a inboard rudder for a couple of years. I'd much rather call my Hobie dealer and order one.
