CBull, Hmmmm... I had a closer look again today. The frame feels a lot lighter than the Trax when wheel-less. You're right about the hollow bearing tube but the axle tube was definitely hollow. There appear to be end caps in the 1/2" tube to give the impression of being a solid axle. |

Stringy, Interesting, hollow it is then. Now why would the HD cart with its hollow axle, have a higher load rating? |

It's the rating of the tires and wheel assemblies. |

OK, so with the HD tire & wheel assembly on the standard cart frame, does this "upgraded" standard cart frame with the HD wheel & tire assembly then rate higher yet than the factory made HD cart? |

Probably the same rating. (same tires and wheel assemblies) |

CBull, I think the HD frame is basically the same as the standard frame. As Bob said, its the type of wheel that determines the capacity. I'm not sure if the Trax2 with the HD wheels officially has a higher capacity but I prefer it because of: -its versatility...being able to swap wheels to suit the terrain. -its wider stance. -its solid axle which is easier to re-weld if necessary ( I have re-welded my Trax1 a couple of times in 2+ years of use) -its heavier which makes on the water insertion easier. |
