I'm looking to do the same thing. I've seen posts where people have used the rail mount successfully, but what I can't seem to find is the specifications on the diameter of the side rail. Scotty sells both 7/8" and 1" diameter rail mounts. Does anyone know which is the right one for the Pro Angler? |

I use a rail mount for my fish finder...I tried using a Scotty first, but it didn't work (too small)...Then I found one in Hobie's online catalogue, that I bought and it works perfect...I measured the side rails with a caliper and the diameter is closest to 1-1/4" noproangler wrote: Hey folks,

I tried Scotty rail mount from ACK and they were too small for my rails. Good to hear there is a place we can get some that are sized right!!! |

I use the Scotty rail mounts and I add a thin rubber shim, works great! not sure but I think it was the #245 on this page: http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/rail-mounts.htm I also added the risers to get the rod up to where it is easier to deal with. my PA is in storage right now so I can't measure the diameter of the rails. here is what they look like:

Atavuss, Perfect! Thanks for the link and pictures. (worth a thousand words) I measured rails at about 1 5/16'' - just over 1 1/4'' You need to get that PA out of storage and get it wet. nice lookin' rig by the way..... happy trails.... |
