I'm considering purchasing a Pro Angler. Unfortunately there are no dealers nearby with any in stock, so a demo seems out of the question and I'd expect to order one to be shipped. My biggest concern is fit. I'm 6'7" 220 lbs....want to make sure that the seat will go back far enough to make pedaling comfortable. Would be great to hear if similar sized people have had a good experience.

The seat is fixed with an adjustable backrest. It is the pedals that can be adjusted and I would think it would accommodate a person of your size. Perhaps a dealer in your area would be willing to contact a nearby owner to arrange a demo. You may also find someone on the forum who is in your neck of the woods. Good luck with your search, it's an awesome craft!

Thanks...I saw a few other guys or larger stature how seem to have no issues. Now if I can just find a dealer near me who actually carries the Pro Angler.

Do you mean physically has one in stock or one that sells PA's? You may have already done this, if not, try going to the Hobie home page and look for "locate a dealer". Click on that and you should see an area to input your zip code. This should provide you with a list of dealers nearest your location. It's definitely worth demo-ing! Good luck and I hope you find one nearby.

I tried the list of dealers on Hobie's site that were supposed to have the PA near me - none of them did.

I do not own a PA, but a guy I fish with ALOT has the Adventure, Outfitter, Adventure Island and now the PA.
He is in the mid 6ft range I would think.
Of all the kayaks he has, he actually has to move the pedals closer for the PA.
All of his other kaykas, he has the pedals maxed I believe.

The PA will make you seem small once you get into it. I let a big guy such as yourself take mine out in the salt,it was VERY hard to get him back off the water and call it a day. he wanted to stay out there and fish all day....he was catching too!!! Needless to say, he ordered one as soon as he got home. It's a wise choice, and more of an investment in yourself than an outright purchase. These Hobies will change you, and a positive change is always the right move. MJ.
