For the guys/gals in Illinois who have PAs, do you need to have them registered with the IL DNR? Are the numbers on the side and state sticker required?

How about titling? IL titles boats bow about PAs?

I did notice at a Cook County FPD Lake a sign said you can use boats canoes and kayaks or any "numbered" boat. I'm guessing that that means registered and have the IL number.

I think your answer lies here;
http://dnr.state.il.us/admin/boats.htm

For comparison;
In Michigan, any non-motorized (electric or petroleum powered) watercraft less than 16 feet in length need not be registered or titled. Human power of any type (pedal, paddle) isn't considered motorized. Wind power also isn't considered motorized, but the length aspect still applies.

i live in apple river, il and you need registration and numbers,
when you file the registration form it is $13 for three years and you must file the usage tax form if your dealer did not.
also the state will send your title in the mail in about 2 months.
enjoy you PA i sure do mine

I live in Illinois. Kayaks need to be registered & state sticker is all that is required. Do not need to put numbers on as long as there is no motor.
