Can you change the angle of the seat back to gain a different position when pedalling a long time?

AlohaDan,

The backrest angle can be adjusted by loosening/tightening the black nylon straps that run from the sides of the backrest to the seat.

I purchased a Hobie inflatable lumbar support from my dealer (Backyard Boats in VA) and it really helps make pedaling more comfortable. You can adjust the inflation depending on how firm you want the support. The support straps around the PA seat back. Hobie doesn't show the lumbar pad in the new parts and accessories catalog, but it is listed on the parts list for the Pro Angler on page 41 - part # 84500011 ($24.95).

My seat is so comfortable, I wouldn't dare add or change any thing.

I am not even tired after 6 straight hours of fishing.

I agree that the seat is already very comfortable, but I have some lower back issues and the inflatable lumbar support makes a long day of pedaling and fishing even more enjoyable. I do have to adjust my pedal settings as the support moves me foward slightly in the seat.

Happy fishing!!

I'm pretty lean, and found that the gap between the upper and lower halves of the seat became uncomfortable after a while. Especially when pushing to get somewhere, my butt would kind of push into the gap (sorry for the graphic description).
This problem was solved with a cheap 2" thick square boat cushion on the back of the seat. It also improves the pedaling position for me. Now I can peddle for hours very comfortably. For trailering, the cushion also fits into the front hatch just fine, as I don't use the insert.
