hey guys,

i just got my pro angler and i know this question has been discussed but i have a specific question relating to storage.

The manual says you can store it flat or up on one end, do they mean up on the bow or stern or on its side port or starboard?

also i plan to store the kayak sometimes outdoors in the yard with a tarp over it , and for the winter i will have a self storage "garage" for it.

What is the best way to store this thing?

Flat on the ground on the hull or flipped over? I really would like to store the thing flat on the hull then i dont have to take the gear out.
Will i deform my hull this way//? For the cold winter what kinds of things can i put it up on to care for it, a big sheet of foam insulation?? wooden beams with padding, is there a special cradle that can go on the ground??? etc. etc. etc.

what kind of advice can you guys give me for storage of this thing in the best way to prevent damage.

thanks for any help.

Get creative. I've made some "bunks" as such. Something like you'd see for a John boat possibly. If you store it right side up you have to make sure especially in the front to give it all the support you can. I've seen cushions used sitting on the floor. I've seen the cradles they offer being used. I've got mine sitting on the SU-350 Trail-X and the rear is easy to accommodate because of the level surface area. The front is more difficult but with the bunks, similar to the pads you'd see on the "C-Tug" wheels set, it's been fine for two years. I used a lash up of wood and carpet for padding and two angled, self adjustable pads to support the maximum hull area. No dimpling yet. It's ugly. I'm hoping the cradles recommended do as well or better or I'll be %#*&&#. I don't have a photo on this computer or I'd include it.

Storage has been a head ache for me. I nailed some 2X6's together into a 4 foot by 4 foot square. Cut some pool noodles for the top edge of each section. This is all on the ground. I simply (well, not simply) turn over the kayak so that the wood crosses the boat in front of the hand rails and behind the seat where the bungee cords cross. It isn't pretty but it works.
I looked into a hoist and straps for a ceiling or wall mount, respectively. But that may come down the road.
