Post subject:  PA Trailer Update: Completed!
Hi all:
I finished the trailer for my PA this week by making and mounting the cushions. See pics below. I figure I'm $500 into this project, total - way cheaper than a lot of other solutions. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Trailer frame with floor and rack elements:

Foam pads glued to 2x6 supports.
Image

Foam pads wrapped in plastic to prevent water absorbtion. In the next step I covered the wrapped pads with indoor/outdoor carpeting before mounting to trailer. (Note: I had two pieces of foam: one tan, one mint green.)

Is that on a Harbor Freight utility trailer ?

Thanks for the compliments.

Yes it's an HF trailer. This one folds up, sort of like a ping pong table so I can store it against the back wall of my garage in the off season. The folding function has a side benefit of allowing the trailer bed to tilt when in use. I also plan to build stake sides for it so I can use it as a utility trailer when needed.

All in all, a great value.

you have a off season? :D
be careful with those HF trailers when you have it stood on end, I had one and it liked to try and fall over on me, ended up strapping it to the wall so it would stay there.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw that in the warnings. HF recommends strappping the standing folded trailer to the wall.

As you know as a fellow Californian, we have a mercifully short off season here in "paradise". In Nov and Dec I'll be focussed on steelhead, But by January or so, some of the reservoirs in the central valley will have good surface activity for trout and large mouth bass will become active in March/April before/during/after spawn. Then, back into the Sierra's for spring trout fishing on the higher lakes as they ice out.

The fun never stops in the golden state. Now if our legislature could just pass a budget... !@#$%^&* embarrassing... :roll:
