1. We'd be talking a tiny amount. The transducer sits right smack on the hull, but as you know, it isn't going to be an exact fit all across its width. The shape of the transducer and hull aren't identical. Thus, you'll have very minor spaces there that need to be filled with water. We're talking a capful of water at most.

2. No. But the water flows in and the FF reads and writes perfectly.

3. I never had to add any water while fishing. I might not even add any for a couple trips. But eventually it will evaporate so you'll need to add a capful maybe every other trip or so. Because the fill opening is next to the seat, it's easy to do and you don't have to bother going inside the hull to do it.

4. The small tube protrudes up through the hole in the side deck. I capped that from the top with a little larger tube and gooped it in place. Dumping a cap of water into it is easy. You don't need a syringe or anything. Just dump it in. You'll spill some but it won't matter. We're talking a tiny bit of water.
