Made from a tandem Sea-Doo aluminum trailer.

The flexible PVC runners auto-center the Pro Angler as you push, or drive it onto the trailer. The PVC runners then flex and bow to perfectly conform to the hull along the scupper/troughs. It's like you were hanging the PA from a custom fitted hammock.

The hull is perfectly supported and will not deform even if the the boat is left tied down for length periods during hot weather. Loading or unloaded the boats requires one hand and only a gentle push or shove at best. But, two ropes with trucker's hitches firmly hold the boats in place over any road conditions.

WOW...2 Hobie Pro Anglers...sweet!

I see that you have NC registration numbers on the side of your PA, is the reason because you use a trolling motor?

Not all the time, but yes, both are rigged with a special trolling motor set up (you can't see the motor from anywhere above the waterline) so we had to register them.

Probably. It requires the manufacture of just one piece and requires no mods to your PA. Hopefully it will be ready early summer. It will allow you to motorize your Hobie for about $400 to $500 complete. Just not sure how soon it'll be done. We are using the prototypes in the meantime and they work perfectly.

Tom,

How did you bolt the PVC to the 2x4's?

With lag bolts. Cut a hole all the way through the pipe so you can insert a socket through the pipe to turn the head of the bolt on the bottom.

Tom - What diameter PVC fits the hull contuour? Do you think that standard pool noodles would work as well for storing on the garage floor?

Nice work. Was it bolted in the middle cross bar also?

What is the PVC center to center measurement on the width?

Post subject:  Re: Pro Angler Tandem Trailer

No, it floats across the middle to accommodate the PA hull.

The centerline distance between the pipes is 10-inches. Pipe is 2-inch OD.

I was wondering why the first board is standing up while the middle and rear boards are laying flat?
I should have tried the PVC pipes before spending over 200.00 for the Hobie cradles..........

Just because of the way required to mount them. On the front of the trailer are the receptacles for the dual winches used when the trailer is used as intended for sea-doos. We removed the winches and mounts and were left with the pieces on the trailer. So we mounted the lumber in the most practical fashion. The boats will never know if the 2x4 is mounted flat or upright. They're not that smart.
