I use a tanneau cover on the bed of my truck so when I am on the water I can store and lock gear in the bed. I usually transport the PA in the bed with the tailgate down. I am planning an extanded camping trip and need the bed space for camping gear. I have found two options for transporting the PA above the tanneau cover. I am looking for experience with either of these two options, and how far apart is too far apart for the cross supports?
1. Thule goal post hitch mounted rack with a set and go rack over the cab.http://www.thule.com/en/US/Products/Wat ... %20NA.aspx
2. I found a company that makes tanneau compatible plates to mount a cross bar accross the mid-section of the bed. I would also need a Thule set and go rack for the cab. http://www.oakorchardcanoe.com/truckrack2.php
