I am new to the PA and have noticed that especially my spinning rods have problems with the guides hitting the inside of the rod tubes bending them. I bent them back easily, but that is not good for my guides. Replacing guides is a pain in the neck. Not as much of a problem with my baitcasters and I imagine that the new 'microguides" would do even better.

Any help on technique or tips in storing rods in these holders is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There is a slight lip where the exterior face plate mates with the actual interior tubes. If you're not real careful, the guides will hang either going in or coming out. If you can get in there and lay down a layer of duct tape to cover and smooth that junction, you'll find the problem largely goes away.
