I've replaced my Hobie tank with a (12volt) 14 Gallon KeepAlive/Oxygen Infusor Tank. I can now keep 50 shad happy all day.

It's a perfect fit in the back of the PA, and runs on the 12volt trolling motor battery. The Hobie tank is a great little tank, but not so great for Shad in the summer.

I made this to use, but never got it out on the PA for a water test.

The KeepAlive tank is non insulated, but has a blue interior.

The oval plastic inside the cooler was from a picture frame. Oval or round is best for baits that school. The plastic is very brittle, something a little thicker would be great as long as it bends. I used rivets to keep it as one piece, as it 2 pieces put together.

With the pump behind the barrier, none of the baits will ever get caught around the pump or filter. Those stupid Shad like to get caught behind the pump filter in the old Hobie tank.

The cooler bait tank never made it out on a fishing trip because I fill the tank at home and trailer it to the lake. With all the hills here in Georgia there would be water spilling through the lid slit. Did not want to tape the gap every time to keep the water in while I drive.

An ice chest with a gasket would be great, but I was tired of modifying something to be a bait tank. My new bait tank is a bait tank.

The fact that you cant really fill it to the top because it has a lid was the other issue.

Is that the Nite Glo version, and what is the amperage draw? If you don't know the draw what kind of battery and how long is the battery lasting?
Thanks

Not the night glow version.

The KeepAlive uses a Rule (460) pump with a 1.40 amp draw. I have it tied into my deep cycle trolling motor battery, so for me there is plenty of power.

The Hobie tank uses an Attwood Tsunami (500) runing @ 6volts (250), it would last 6-8 hours on the factory 6V battery.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is some draw, looks like I would have to invest in another battery besides the 10Ah I have running the Humminbird.
