That is a great adaptation.

My initial preference would be a rear mount for fishing considerations even if there were no other conflicts. I fish for Crappie a lot and I would rather have the motor as far as possible from the stump I am working.

Again, thanks for the photo and advice.

Well guess I need to take some updated pictures. As of now the wooden pieces have been replaced with plastic and a nice aluminum bar for the back. Motor shaft has been cut down where it no longer takes up space from the back hatch. Copilot on the way in Dec. also managed two trip around 15 miles each on one charge. Also found out that using the fins with the motor also gives you more speed as well. Just thought I would update.

Nice looking setup...I am possibly looking as something similar for my PA however not sure if the Minn Kota's are worth the extra money compared to the Jarvis Marine Watersnakes. Anybody got any performance data on how many amps the minn kota motors chew as I can't seem to find this data anywhere? The main ones in questions are the bow mount 55lb Riptide SP (bow mount) and the engine mount models 44lb/54lb? Unless they draw significantly less amps I can't see how else they would be worth the extra money, or I am missing something?

Great looking set-up. I would like to try to do the same set-up but I don't understand how you change the drive from a puller to a pusher. You said something about changing the wires to the gear box... can you elaborate a little more?

Also, how well does your set-up work with the I-Pilot or Auto-Pilot?

Thanks,
Greg
