Hello! I think I know the answer to this question, but figured I'd ask to to be sure.

I've ordered a 2020 PA 14 and am working on determining where / how it will be stored. I was thinking about using two Railblaza Wall Sling kits (four straps in total - https://railblazausa.com/product/railblaza-wall-sling/), but after looking at the online manual and other posts on this forum I'm thinking this counts as "side storage", and maybe not a good idea. It would be nice to conserve garage space, but obviously not at the cost of hull damage.

Any thoughts? Would adding some sort of additional webbing / support make this a workable solution or am I better off scrapping this plan and doing it another way?

Thanks!

Just wanted to bump this up to see if anyone had any thoughts. Boat will (hopefully) be arriving soon and I want to make sure I have my storage plan worked out.

Thanks!

Bruce

Bruce welcome to the forum!

The PA14 is a great boat but storing it on it's side like you said isn't recommended nor practical. It's a heavy boat. I could see it easily getting scratched up pretty good in the process of turning it on it's side to hang it. Most folks build a wood cart to store it on (sitting on Hobie cradles is ideal). Even turning the PA upside down to store it on it's rails honestly isn't feasible with just one person.
