I need ideas as I caught a 10.2lb bass and it wouldnt fit in my little net I stow behind the seat! Im looking to see if there are any clever ideas out there. My rods and reels are to big to get them all in the horizontal holders so I put three in horizontally and two in the verticle holders behind the seat. I take at least 5 rods already set up and a push pole with me every time I go out. I saw a folding net at bass pro but I cant see myself bringing in a 10 + lb bass and trying to unfold something at the same time. Only thing I can come up with at this point is to take one less rod and put it in one of the vertical holders?
I love my Hobie PA as it operates flawlessly for me! I bought my PA from Bob Nielson an authorized Hobie dealer here in Arizona. He is always there for me when I need him and has made my first kayak experience a great one. What an incredible kayak....Im so glad I bought a Hobie! Sincerely, g man

I use a collapsable rubber net from Bass Pro Shop and I keep it in one of the rod holders behind the seat. I usually carry 4 rods in the horizontal rod holders and one in the vertical rod holder accross from the net.

Atavuss, Ya know that is where I was headed sort of! As of now I dont have room for the 4th pole in the horizontal holder because I have my push pole in there. If I take off the handle of the net and replace it with my push pole(extendable paint rollar handle) it would free up another spot for the fishing pole in the horizontal rod holder. :) Thanks! g man

This may not be much help, but for landing bass a net isn't really required. If you prefer not to "lip" them, try a lip gripper such as offered by Rapala, Berkley or Boca. These are small enough to stow anywhere next to the seat on a PA and they cause virtually no harm to the fish.

use the net ............ little chance of knocking fish off the hook or you getting hooked and little chance of losing 1.

We fish mainly salt water and some of our macho guys are always using a leg sweep to pull fish into the yak with the mouth very close to the jewels .........

Just waiting for 1 of them to get a crouch full of hooks or teeth while on camera ........... and the high pitch screeches of the latest eunuch on you tube .........

I store the net in a verticle rod holder or flat on the back deck ........ and it's great because I don't have to even bring the fish on board if I don't want it ......... it also doesn't stress the fish as much ...... they don't thrash as much ....

Never leave home without it ............
