Do you guys store your Hobie paddle inside your boat? I didn't spend much time trying to get it in there but it doesn't look like it will fit in the front hatch. |

I generally use just half the paddle with the T-handle. I store the other half in the hull. I slip it in though the front hatch and use a small bungee loop connected to a plastic ball to hold it in place along side the bottom rod tube. |

I use the full paddle and it is secured to clips that are attached to one of the side rails, I found the clips at West Marine. out of the way but easily accessed when needed. Scotty makes a cool paddle clip: |

Scotty makes a cool paddle clip: It looks like Hobie actually connected this paddle mount directly to the paddle shaft as opposed to mounting it to the rail on the PA12. Did I see this right in the video on the website? I like this idea as it seems to make placement of the paddle very flexible. |

It will fit in, under the front hatch liner. When you place it inside there are two foam floatation pieces that have to be pushed rearward a few inches, but it will store inside. The paddle has been pretty useless for me except as a possibility for emergency if the drive fails. I use a push pole to push off of banks or to push along in very shallow water. I think the Native paddle mount on the side rail would be the best if you feel you need the paddle. |

I would much rather push pole in the shallows which is what I always did in my pirogues anyway. I just used a paddle though. I think with the PA I'd like to get an actual push pole though and keep the paddle in the hull for emergencies. Now to try and find a decent 14' or so push pole that won't cost me $300!!! |
