Take a kid fishing!

I don't have a PA, but I have the large Elite seat which I use in my Freedom Hawk 12 and Pathfinder.

Underway, there is no problem, and I do keep the PFD snug.

Getting into and out of the Freedom Hawks and the rear seat of our Oasis, I have a problem of seeing "where are my feet". Also, with the Oasis in the low seating situation, I prefer the Cabela's auto PFD.

Because the PA seat is so large and luxurious a high back kayak life vest didn't work for me. I'm 6'2". My high back best would get caught over the top fo the seat, so I went with a regular old West Marine full back vest. The full back provide a nice cushion, too.

The only reason I didn't go with the inflatable horse collar type vest is that a conventional vest has pockets. Pockets on a vest in a kayak are berry berry important to me. They're handy as all get out.

Look again at my choice/post. It's an automatic or manual inflation vest and does indeed have pockets and is so comfortable even in hot weather you won't be tempted to wear it incorrectly or worse, take it off.

question about bass pro pfd.They say it deploys automatic or manual.Is that a choice or will it deploy anytime it's immersed? I have a Hobie inflatable and here in the Florida heat,the high collar makes it almost unbearable to wear.I find myself doing exactly what you said "Not to Do".Wear it half undone or not at all.That's not why I bought it.The Bass Pro vest look like it's cut low behind the neck.Maybe cooler to wear?

It is optional. You change the end/cap (included) to either be automatic or manual, there is a pocket inside to store one so you can change it at any point.
