OK,maybe you've enjoyed a peaceful day of fishing.Let's say your out on the river for 3-4 days, camping along the way,and you want to listen to some tunes.Anybody come up with some tricked out stereo setups?

I went through 500$ worth of ipod's in the last month, and ipods don't let passengers listen. Ipods and capsizes don't mix.

I too would like a waterproof stereo system that can work on a kayak or hobie cat.

This is what I use. $50 bucks plus tax right now with promo code.

But, an on-board stereo system would be pretty cool though!

I have been thinking about using a Bluetooth speaker like the Jawbone jambbox in a waterproof bag. Not sue how the sound would be coming out of the bag but in the store the sound is awesome.

Id prefer an ipod free device. It would be nice if you just insert a memory card and the music plays.

http://www.gracedigitalaudio.com/eco-extreme-p-113.html I've had mine about a year..my buddy has had his for 2. Battery life is outstanding with a good set of rechargables. Sound is great at low volumes which is plenty loud for the yak. I've given mine a pretty rough life so far..tough as nails.

I purchased a stero bluetooth headset for use with my smartphone. Not only can I listen to tunes, I am also able to answer the phone! I keep my EVO in a waterproof bag on the inside of my PA.

all great suggestions. My brother-in -law is installing a dashmount boat receiver in his Malibu. It will include bracket mounted speakers,a battery pack, extensive wiring, and his mp3.My son just came home with a bluetooth speaker from Bed,Bath And Beyond.Who'd a thought something for $40 would sound so good.Waterproof? Yea,we put it inside a ziplock freezer bag.You can stream Pandora from your phone or plug in your mp3.The sound is awesome.Check it out.

Won't speakers mounted into the kayak transmit the sound into the water and scare off the fish with all the noise???

Let him scare them my way. 8) I go to the outdoors to get away from that stuff. :P Some people have different ways of relaxing. I can see the ripples in the water, like the trunk of some of those cars.    He probably has 24" rims on his trailer too.

This is exactly what I use. Kayak Angler Magazine tested it out, with a great review. It works great, and I'm glad I purchased it!

I have been sealing my iPhone in a ziplock baggie and stuffing it in my PFD pocket, but I know I'm tempting fate relying on that baggie if I ever turtle :P
