I have 2 PA 12's about to arrive. I was going to store one above the other on a simple rectangular frame with 2 x 2" PVC pipes on the top level and again on the bottom. It will basically follow the design that many of you are using on your cars. But I am not limited by space between the cross members that support the PVC. With that in mind, what do you think would be an ideal space between them. Do the PVC pipes stay straight or is a bit of a bend a good thing.

Here is what I did, just one PA14 on a lift. Used 2 block and tackles from the hardware store. Or for front and one for back. 2" schedule 40 PVC. The boards are 40" long. PVC I think is 9'. 10-11" apart.

Thanks for your trouble Jfnall. You have inspired a Plan B.
So it doesn't really matter how far apart those pieces of timber are apart ....... as long as it is less than the lengths of PVC. Is that correct ?

My cross support spacing plan was what I thought might hold the majority of the weight of the boat, not being too close to the ends. The further apart they are, the more the PVC will flex out. And it also had to do with my rafter spacing for my hoist mounted to the ceiling.
