The handle may have sheered off the alignment slot. If steered past the stops... that could happen, but nothing would drop off. Take a look inside with your phone camera to see if something else is happening. Maybe the screw holding the steering shaft to the handle came off.

I have the same problem. I just bought a 2020 360 pro angler 12 at Appomattox River company this afternoon. Drove it down to Gloucester va to the Piankatank River where we have a house. Right hand Rudder control works. Left hand Control spins freely doing nothing. Decided to open the manual. The owner’s packet I received is for hobie inflatable kayak not a 360.........
Thanks
MJL

I have same problem. Bought brand new pa 12 360 yesterday at Appomattox river company. Drove it down to Gloucester va. And found that left rudder control lever spins freely and does nothing. Ok let’s check the owners manual, but I found that the owner packet I was provided was for hobie inflatable kayak not 360. Do I disassemble or what? I don’t want to drive it back to Appomattox river co 2 hours. Thanks. MJL

If spinning. The handle has to be replaced. Someone has oversteered. Usually thinking it is the 360 control... forced beyond the stops shears the handle.

Covered by warranty. We have made a change to the handle to beef up the stops.

My warranty manager tells me he has had dealers use a longer screw to attach the handle thinking it is easier. Does not pull the handle and the crank together enough to engage.

You can check by reaching inside and pushing the crank up while pushing the handle down. Maybe remove the screw and check the length. It should be 1/2 inch.

360 videos show this assembly:

I pulled up the whole unit, then pressed down the rudder with the 360 control lever still held up. The left rudder control then worked moving the rudder and the right handle. Then I pressed down the 360 control lever and everything is working for now. Admittedly, I and being gingerly with the left rudder lever. MJL

Thanks for the info. This fix worked for me.

I noticed that the set screw that held the assembly together was a Phillips head... not an Allen screw. This supports the theory of dealers using a longer screw to pull the unit up.

In my case, about 1/8" of the plastic "tab" inside the rudder control broke off... leaving only about 3/8" to take seat. I am going to contact the dealer and make them aware of the shoddy install. They are a really good dealer (Mariner Sails in Dallas), I believe they will give me a new rudder control.
