Post subject:  Rudder backwards?

I recently had the original rudder pin drop out of my PA and ended up replacing the original pin with a cotter pin. For some reason when I replaced the pin my PA is turning the opposite direction from what it is supposed to do. Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm wondering if I hooked up the lines wrong or if I put the rudder in backwards?

I think you will just have to reverse your line attachments.

Or you could take it off and flip it one turn back to the non-twisted lines and then they will be correct. Then you don't have the hassle of trying to adjust the lines. Just a thought. Good Luck

I lifted the lid to the rudder attachment and noticed that I had put the rudder strings on wrong. One side of the rudder plate is round and the strings should wrap around the top end of the rounded plate, go through a hole and to the tie-down screw. I have a feeling Hobie designed it this way so the strings wouldn't wear out as quickly? Just remember this in case you ever loose your rudder pin and need to re-attach your rudder and lines!
