What do you guys use to work on your boats? Wondering what there is for DIY and retail product?

Tired of bending over.

Built a kayak cart tailgate height on casters with 2 in. Pvc mounted like trailers to slide yak on & off, move cart around garage....

Like the saw horse idea, just don't have any at the moment. Will let you know how it works out.

Thought I'd check back in and let everyone know the work stand from Harbor Freight is very nice. I did use a couple of tie down straps on the stand to make a little "hammock" for the boat. At it's lowest setting, the boat list one way or the other about 5 degrees, but I found this helpful as I did most of my work from one side (starboard installation of bottom finder). It's cheap, easy to store and will come in handy for other things. One thing though, it's a bit tricky getting a PA14 on it by yourself.

I built 2x4 saw horses and cut them down to mid thigh. laid a piece of 38" x 8' x 1/2" plywood on top so I can turn the kayak on it's side if needed. and I have 2 - 10' 2" sch40 pvc pipe for the groove areas on the underside.

I was able to customize my yak and it was comfortable.

good luck, it is easy to build 2x4 saw horses.

I use my local transport cart and elevate the nose higher if working on the front or leave it low if working on the back.
