The Pro Angler and Mirage Drive make it easy.

*Big fish, little mouth, multiple hooks, 6lb line - don't forget your lip gripper.

You really made me nervous each time you were holding that fish and trying to remove the lure :o Probably not as nervous as what you were

Nice catch Tom

Tom, lip grippers and a good pair of pliers to remove those hooks. Thank you for sharing the video.

It's rare that I don't have my lip grippers in the boat. I had moved them a few days earlier to a different boat and hadn't remembered to put them back. If you listen closely to the video just after I hooked the first one you'll hear me comment that it was going to be tough landing it without my lip grippers. These fish have relatively small mouths for their size.

Getting hooked is one thing but getting hooked to a 12 pound fish that is still thrashing around is something else. Something I don't want to experience. You can bet I won't forget them again - I bought an additional pair so I won't be moving them back forth from boat to boat.

Glad you guys enjoyed the video. We caught 7 hybrids between us that morning. Not a large number, but all quality fish. And the Hobie Mirage Drive made it easy to run them down.

Nice fish... Hybirds are very unpredictable when tryingt land. If I were you, I would get a lipper gripper to save my hands from the hooks. Good Luck.

Yes Tom...we all know, that you know better! Besides missing your lip grippers and hook removal device, you were also missing your Indiana Jones Hat and Life Vest...geez, an accident waiting to happen that day.

Just a friendly NC kick in the pants, my friend!

Continued success...

You know - you're exactly right. I completely forgot to put on my life jacket and the water's cold enough now that you don't want to do that.

Maybe I'm getting too old or too forgetful to do this.
