This simple bracket is made from 1.25" PVC. I wanted to secure a cooler (mine is a 32 qt) cooler on the rear deck and have a couple holders for either rods, tools, nets, etc. that I wanted organized and at hand.

Bracket is easily removable for transport or if you don't need it on a particular outing.

Bracket in place.

Cooler in place with pliers and a rod in the holders. I use a cooler for either dry storage (rather than the usual milk crate) or ice, depending on what I need.

The other side, I keep my net and gaff.

It can be reversed, to use just as rod holders expanding the two rod holders at the back to four.

The basic bracket idea can be modified to suit your own needs. My friend did just that, making modifications to hold a 48 qt cooler and "rocket launcher" rod holders across the back.

Great work :!: I had also done something similar for my Outback and PA. The below picture is the rig mounted on the Outback.

If you meant me, the one I made is very simple, just refer to the picture for placement of the fittings.

1 length of 1.25" PVC
2 - 90's
2 - 45's
2 - tees
2 - 4 ways.

I dry fit mine with the cooler in place. Your cooler, or milk crates will vary in size. If you want to add a rocket launcher style rod holder then you will need a 4-way connector per rod, and likely and extra tee and cap as a support for the rod holder across the rear. Best to dry fit for you individual kayak. My buddy did for his 2013 (yellow) as the angle of the rod holder and the rear deck is slightly different from my 2012 and my bracket would not fit his kayak.

Definitely wanting to do this. Is there a good place to find the black PVC? I can't find any at my Home Depot.

Can of black Krylon spray paint and a can of Clear. Make it any color you want, I just happened to have the black & clear on hand.

Where did you get the carbon fiber pipe. That's bad to the bone.

Cudadude, The actual construction was made from PVC. I covered the pvc with a wrap they use on cars.

OK, that is ridiculously sweet. What did you use at the tips of the rod tubes (looks like cushioning of some sort). What was the name of the carbon fiber stuff "they use on cars"? I am looking to add something like that on my new PA 12 for additional storage of rods, etc.

I did the same with my side handles.
