I was looking at the harbor freight trailer too. My only concern is that it's rated for something like "less than 50 MPH". I wanted to hall mine from MO to FL for my annual vacation. That is my only concern. |

I purchased the 5x8 harbor freight trailer with the larger tires to haul my outback. I drive it 45-50mph all the time on the freeways, but have not ventured above 55mph+ with it. Someone here may jump in. I believe folks have changed up the "springs" a little for a more forgiving ride, alowing faster highway speeds. If you decide to go down this route- I would purchase the spare tire! |

Is the trailer you purchased the flat trailer or the boat trailer? |

I would try to find a used jet ski or small boat trailer and then convert it to suit your needs. I got a galvanized trailer for $100 and spend another 150 to make it perfect |

Get something with 12" wheels. 8" wheels will work but puts lots of strain on the wheel bearings. I have the 8" but always have my auto mech check out the bearings before a long and high speed trip. |

I use a Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer with the 12" (4 lug) wheels. I've towed 200 miles with no issues on I-95 at 65 MPH. Couple treated 2x4's and two lengths of PVC an you are ready to roll.  I tried carpeted bunks first, but the yak slipped around. I saw the others were using the PVC rails, so I switched and that is MUCH better. |

I thought about purchasing a Harbor Freight trailer but decided on a galvanized jet ski trailer due to use in the saltwater. I purchased a used one for $175 in exceptional condition. |

I'm still working with Float-On in the design and construction of a premium quality fishing/tournament trailer. Construction to begin on mine tomorrow actually. All aluminum I-beam construction, LED lighting, locking aluminum storage, 13" wheels, folding overhead LED rigging lighting. It won't be able to compete with harbor freight or used galvanized trailers, but its not supposed to. I'll have some pics and things during construction, for anyone interested. Cheers Drew |

I used a PWC trailer for my PA. works fine. Just need to put the 3" pipe on it. |

I have the 4x8 hf trailer. Works very well grease the bearings. Make sure they stay greased. I have had mine from Waco to Corpus Christi. Waco to Houston and all around here. The speed rating to me is a suggestion. But hey I am a rebel. Will try to post a pic sometime. |

I just purchased a pro angler and I'm considering using the harbor frieght trailer to transport it. My question is how are you guys adding PVC to the trailer? If you have any pictures that would be helpful also. Thanks.. |

I bought and modified the smaller Harbor Freight trailer to pull behind my motorcycle. I originally towed an Outback but a few years ago modified it for my PA. Thousands of miles on the road, interstate and rural roads, with no worries. It was fun. I just bought a Malone Sport Trailer so I can pull multiple yaks behind the camper. Looked at other options, but the Malone requires little modification for my use and appears to be a solid and affordable unit. Still have the HFCS trailer for motorcycling. |

I purchased the same trailer that harbor freight is selling at northern tool. I'm not sure if the kits are from the same company, but anyways. It makes up as a fine trailer for the PA. You will need to add the crank, spare tire, and washers. My thoughts on the MPH rating at 45-50 is to cover there bu$$. I have had many trailers with the 8" wheels and haven't had any issue with anything and I travel allot of timeS at 60 - 70 mph. Just remember the higher you lift the trailer with bigger wheels the more you have to back it down the ramp to unload and load. I put the 3" PVC on mine and it loads, and unloads perfectly.. Side note: spend the the money and put the bearing buddies and marine grade grease for the wheel bearings and you shouldn't have any issues. |
