Hey everyone,

I know this subject has been oft-mentioned in various other threads, but I am pulling what's left of my hair out in trying to decide on a very simple items for wiring up my PA12...

All of you wizards that have installed lights, fishfinders, motors, batteries, etc etc... What have you been using for wiring pass-throughs for the hull/bulkhead/waterproof box/deck/etc??

Please, tell us rookies what works best for you, and if you have a picture and an "official" retail item name, shout 'em out for us!

Thanks! Almost time to pick up my PA and get it wet... I'm getting more anxious as the days go by and the ice remains!

A rubber gasket from the hardware store (they make lots of sizes) and a dab of Goop. Done.

My fishfinder has terminal ends on the wires that are too large to fit through the gasket, so I simply cut one side of the gasket. No biggie.

Do a search on "thru hull" & "mmiller" & you will get:

Drill big enough hole, pass wire or wire with molded connector through hole, seal with Permatex Ultra Gray silicone. That stuff sticks to anything. Cures up tough but still flexible.

Nice option if a bit bulky for a small wire.

If you goggle clamshellwiring, that's what's I like to use. You can get them in either plastic or SS. Easy to install, just fill the void with a silicone, place it over the opening/wiring and screw down. Easy to remove later if needed.

The PA12 comes with pass thru's for your wiring. If you need any other penetrations use the suggestions of other posters.
