Post subject:  2013 PA 14 Transducer cable routing

I am in the process of installing a Lowrance LMS 334 FF in my newly purchased PA 14. I have the transducer installed and the cable mounted up thru the scupper and thru the left transducer cable opening. The manual seems to indicate the cable should go to the side of the boat then forward to the opening under the mounting board. After trying to find a channel, I have come to the conclusion that it essentially just cuts a diagonal to the mounting board after going around the back scupper. Any one have any advice or tips on this routing of the transducer cable?

I'm afraid this may not be the answer you wished for, but indeed, the cables are just fine simply laying in the hull. This cable/cables are double shielded and are accustomed to being routed in the bilge of a boat. Basically impervious to water and petroleum, there is not a lot of harm that can come to them in the bottom a kayak. Impingement from rudder cables is about the worst problem.

If you do devise a way to route them, make sure and post pics as I'm sure others have this same question.

Cheers
Drew
