My brother has the PA12 and has the Lowrance Elite 5 DSI and he loves it. I just helped him install it a week or two ago and thought it would be pretty big on the yak as well. But I was WRONG! We took it out this past weekend and it is perfect for his PA. I have the PA14 and plan on purchasing the Elite 5 DSI as well. The smaller ones seem to small and the 5 is just right. They are on sale right now for $399 at most stores till at least Father's day June 16th. At least that's my $0.02!

I am with the Elite 4 DSI crowd. If I am in a full sized bass boat, standing up far away from the unit, a larger screen would be nice. However, I am sitting down most of the time with the unit on a ram mount tilted to almost right in front of me. When I stand up the screen is still large enough to see since it is mounted high on the mounting board. I frequently have to paddle the boat because of the heavy grass in areas I fish and the fish finder can get into the way sometimes. If it was a larger screen it would be an even larger issue. I spend time using the fish finder but I spend much more time actually fishing. The Elite 4 DSI works great for me and I would buy it again.

Has anyone used any of the Shorai LFX batteries in their kayaks? I saw one at my local battery store and they are super lightweight, but it all seems too good to be true. I'm not a battery guru so was wondering if anyone have gave them a shot here.

Thanks
