The owner is in his golden years, he needed a strap to assist in standing and sitting. He didn't want anything in front of him so the h bar was not going to work. It's triple reinforced at the mount.

That's classic!

With my back destroyed from 14 years of wearing a gunbelt & 26 years of pulling hose & slinging patients into the back of Rescues, I've found myself grabbing the pedals to helps myself up towards the end of the day.....the AARP Strap may be the answer.
What did you use for the strap and the backing??

Thanx....

The strap comes from a climbing gear supplier. The set up consists of a SS 1" footmans loop, SS backer plate to connect both bolts together, and apiece of matching color plastic to reinforce behind the front firewall, and the climbing strap. It works really well for getting up and sitting back down. I have installed one on an outback too for his brother.

I use a Lawn Mower replacement hand and cord from Lowe's as my "Fat Man" pull up on my Jackson Coosa. I just bought another to install on my new PA 12. :)

I have to give credit here, the idea came from a Jackson cuda. He liked the strap and asked if I could do it to a pro angler. We made it work.

That strap is classic! I love it. I was thinking about something just like that and wasn't sure how I'd add it to the kayak. I need a little assistance getting up from such a deep position. Fine once up or when seated, but it's that push up. I thought I could attach a strap like that to the grab bar at the front of the yak, but that's even better.
