I have the latest gen Evolve that uses the Torqeedo Ultralight 3. I bought it to use on my Rev 11 and Outback in Twist&Stow mode; I sold both and am preparing to buy a new PA14. Is there a simple way to convert the evolve kit into a standard torqeedo ultralight kit so I can rear mount it on the PA?

I'm definitely not interested in attempting to swap the mirage drive and the evolve in open water.

I swap my electric and the Mirage all the time. No different than launching or retrieving and sticking the Mirage drive in the hole to go out and taking it out to land. Mine is not the Evolve, it is a Watersnake adapted to a Cartridge Plug for the Mirage drive hole.

I contacted Torqeedo and the answer is yes, just need to buy the missing parts ($??) and professional services to water seal something ($75). Still waiting for the full price quote.

Maybe consider making a transom mount that you can hand a Twist and Stow rudder from. Mount the motor to that. I saw somewhere in the forums where it has been done. Kick up motor system... very clean.

I've only taken my PA14 on two inshore trips so far; swapping the mirage drive and the evolve isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I leave the one not in use on deck. The evolve does take up a lot of real estate when laying on deck but for me the PA14 has ample room so it doesn't really bother me. It's not as convenient as the twist and stow but I can do something I couldn't effectively do on the outback or revolution.. reverse =)
