Need to put that on my rod and reels
Wouldn't it make the surface slick or slippery? If so, I'd be worried about using it on a surface I'd be standing on.

Thinking about grabbing a bottle Rustolleum Neverwet and treating my entire PA 12 with it. Sure would help with the clean up, instead of scrubbing down the hull now I just do a light rinse and I'll be done. Anyone else thinking about giving this a try? |

There is a company in GA who is working on use with a similar product. Understand there are some test being done with kayaks. Not so much to keep them clean but making them go faster

I recently discovered a product called "The Works". It's similar to Lime Away, even has very similar packaging, but it instantly disolved any lake scum instantly. I tried about 20 different products before I found this one. It's a miracle product for removing scum. |

I've actually apply a good coat of RainX on the side of my PA. It does help when cleaning the waterline that I get from my primary lake. The lake is that dark "tea" colored type of environment and leaves a waterline stain. The RainX doesn't last for more than a few outings, but isn't that hard to re-apply and does greatly reduce the amount of waterline "slime" that shows before cleaning. I suppose anything that would not impact the plastic, but would provide a slick finish would help in cleaning. I always clean my hull thoroughly after every outing and never put it away dirty. Small areas that have scuffs or scratches are the hardest to clean, but usually come clean with some elbow grease. |

303 Aerospace is what I use. Not only does it make the surface slik it has a UV pertection. Perfect for rubber and vinyl rafts, 303 penetrates the material stop brittle oxidation and UV decay Easy application: just spray on & wipe dry Repels dust, soiling and staining so treated surfaces stay cleaner, longer |

We used Hobie protectant stuff on our boats and it's working great! They're in our boat slips and we just use a quick soft brush to the sides to remove the waterline marks. Still look brand new and we applied the protectant 2 months ago. A pontoon boat forum has a similar thread going about the Never Wet. Nobody's tried it yet there either. I'm curious too. |

UV degradation will shorten your yaks lifespan quicker than anything else. 303 and Hobie's UV protectant will keep it looking new and make it much easier to clean, don't bother using them on the bottom of your yak, just the top where all the sun is concentrated. It also will keep the color of your yak from fading much much longer. |

Going to buy some Never Wet this weekend and do some testing. On the JKF website, this product has had considerable discussion and guys are trying various applications. Application to the deck of your kayak would sure make it easy to keep clean. |

OK.. coated my paddle blades with this 2 part product application. First impression is mixed. While it did shed water like crazy, the coating on the paddle was a hazy matt finish which has a feeling like a very fine sandpaper. Have decided that many of the applications I had in mind aren't going to happy because of the finish of the product. Here is a picture for your review.
