I love to fish... just always in a canoe... until now...

I was looking for a new hobby when I stumbled upon Kayak Fishing! Oh boy talk about accessories! The angler was cheap compared to the $ I'm probably gonna spend on it over the summer! Hope you enjoy the pics!

I'm new at this so if you see anything that looks funky or have any suggestions feel free to post! I'm not an electrician but I figured out the wiring and from a few pics from a member on this page I was able to build a stand! =)

Very nice set-up. What are the yellow things on the ends of your rods? Just lost one overboard and am looking at solutions that don't involve a rod leash as far as recovery goes. Well done and thanks in advance for your help. :D

Thanks!

It's called a Cush-it by Luna Sea. Run ya about $15 each! Haven't Troyes em yet... They just came in the mail but they are also suppose to stop the rod from digging into your side too!

Nice work.

Just a word of caution. Not sure how waterproof that white cable/black connector in the floor is? If you get anywhere close to salt water all electrical connections will have to be hermetically sealed. Salt and any electrical current no matter how small will corrode the connections and wires really fast.

Thanks! I got all mt stuff from west marine but I will look into it further. I'm now much of a salt water fisherman but I don't want anything to compromise all the hard work I did! Thanks again!

I'm going to have to look into those. I'm finding the rod leash kind of annoying.

My only suggestion is "Come do mine, too!!"

Hey, cool stand - I thought it looked familiar! And it looks like you added a few features to my original - I like the cart holder!

Where did you get the clamps for the gear track on the side rail? I was out today and decided the rail would be a good place for a scotty rod holder, but a gear track would be much more usable.

Yakattack has the gear track and clamps for the rails.

Looks great, I'm jealous. I'm looking to hopefully purchase a pro 14 soon but my question is if you flip (when I flip) what happens to all that gear. Sorry if this is a rookie question but I'm a real rookie. Hoping to test drive an outback to see if this is for me. I'm really excited about it just hope it all works out. I usually fish off a friends boat but I look forward to the " being one with nature thing"

I flipped it over the first time out... I had my mom in the back (not recommended). I was lucky I was able to recover everything. I have sense made some adjustments because if we weren't over the rock shelf I would have lost everything.

I bought the Luna Sea floats for my fishing poles
Added a leash to pretty much everything else
Bought a dry bag
Added straps to the front lid to reduce the amount of water going into the hull of the boat
Attached a softball sized buoy to all small waterproof containers that hold small electronics and tackle stuff

This way everything is either attached or floats!

Good Luck! :)
