Anybody got an official name for the dark gray foam inside the hull? One of mine is about a 1/4" too short, yup they are in the right order, I would like to get some of this to shore up the deck a little more. Looked in the catalog, no joy there. Thanks Scotty |

Hey Scotty, interesting question. I have wondered how important those foam blocks were myself. They must ultimately compress and would then shift position ? If so, then what is the reduction in hull/deck integrity, if at all ? My previous pa14 had no foam blocks, so maybe they don't actually need them ? Would be good to get a comment from Hobie. Cheers, Rod |

Emergency floatation, not hull support. Cheers, Graeme |

They are Polyethylene foam, also called Ethafoam. Pool noodles and many packing materials are polyethylene foam. |

islandspeed2001 wrote: Deck support Good point. It would only be hull support if the hull was upside-down. Cheers, Graeme |
