Here is a response I got back from Ram Customer Service/Engineering

check to see if the washers between the knob and the arm could be warped, or if the brass insert could be stripping out from the knob.



Beyond this, it could be an issue with a plastic arm clamped onto a metal ball base. He may need to switch to a plastic ball base, which has a softer rubber molding and is easier for his plastic arm to clamp onto, and should solve that problem.

I have the rubber ball base and it tightens down all the way. It tightens so tight that both sided of the clamp are a hair from touching. I will call and talk with them or shoot them an email with detailed pictures. If I get same response, Ill definitely be switching to Scotty.
