My V2 MD mast got bent running into a sandbar. Took the fin off so I could remove the mast & straighten it in a vice, but the brass inserts rotate while turning the mast so I can't get the mast out. Used a couple drops of loctite blue last time I fixed a bent mast.

Is it 2 vice grips...one squeezing the plactic of the spocket surrounding the brass insert & one to turn the mast?
Anybody have a recommendation?

I am afraid that I will pull the insert right out of the sprocket.

it might be best if the brass inserts DID pull out. This way you could clean them and reinstall with better epoxy that will hold the next time you need to remove the mast. I have had to straighten my twice. i used red locktite on the mast and it came out just fine the second time.
