What is a good lube to use on the o-ring of the rear hatch on my PA-12 My hatch is difficult to open or close. I've tried spray on Teflon and other lubes with lousy results. |

Silicone grease works best for me.....dielectric silicone grease works too.....just more money. It does not dry out and does not attack the seal. |

Odds are the plastic (kayak) is moving slightly with heat and cooling. Also there is a little give in the hull when opening and closing the hatch. That is more the cause of the binding than the seal. Jim |

Silicone! Petroleum lubes will damage the O-Ring causing it to swell. That would make opening and closing harder. |
