Post subject:  Using Heavy Duty Cart w/ PA12
Hello,

I just sold my 2012 Outback and purchased a PA12. The Hobie Heavy Duty cart does not seem to fit, the collars do not slide up against the scupper holes. I can get one collar to fit into the scupper port but the other side just will not go in. The cart is just not wide enough. The PA is upside down when I am adjusting the cart. Any Ideas? Anyone else having this issue? Thank you in advance!

Try the holes directly behind the seat.
That's were I use my cart.

Thank you for the reply. I have tried both sets but still have the same issue. Do the collars fully seat into the scuppers, so that they both touch the under side of the boat? Maybe its not a big issue... Thanks again

Those black collars will never flush up to the scupper openings on the Pro Angler as the shape of the collars and the contour of the bottom does not allow that. At least that's my experience with a 2012 PA14 and a 2013 PA14 and 2 Heavy Duty carts. I have found that by using 2 tennis balls drilled out and put on the shafts without the collars, I get enough clearance off the wheels and the end of the cart sticks through fine to use the retainer pin.

But I do not pull my PAs on the carts fully loaded very often. I use the carts mainly for pulling the PAs in the driveway for cleaning after an outing. Some folks have suggested using a small piece of PVC below the collars. I might try that in the future.

Just my 2 cents. BTW...congratulations on the PA purchase!! :D I hope you like it as much as I do!

The rudder is spring loaded to the down position, so would simply flex aft and pop back down when you pass the rock.
