To those of you that have built one of his mounts, my question is where have you purchased the blunt faced end cap that holds the conduit clamps ? I searched high and low but all I could find is the dome ones. Any help would be appreciated. Bonjoe |

Keep hitting different hardware or plumbing supply houses. You can also google pvc pipe sellers online. One modification I did was to increase the cap size to accommodate two pipe clamps. This is because the thrust from the motor puts enough torque to make the motor shaft swivel stern-wards a bit. See my post #13: http://www.stripersonline.com/t/878425/ ... otor/0_100 |

Haven't mounted a motor to it yet but I bought a male threaded end and screwed a flat female end cap on to it. Looks like it will work just as well. |

You just have to look around to find the flat style. It all comes down to what supplier the retailer is using for their PVC. Rarely do the stores carry both types - it's either one or the other. |

Thanks for the info. My buddy just found one in a small hardware store in the next town. Tom, since your around, any more information you may have on installing your mount on a PA12. I now have all the parts and ready to assemble. Joe |

Hey Tom, Have you tried mounting a transducer on one? I figure it would be easy to build a smaller diameter mount to reduce drag and slap one on... |

Well you could certainly do that without much trouble. Plenty of options, which is another reason I hope Hobie keeps the molded in rod holders - they can be used for so much more than just holding rods. |
