I've been using my new PA14 for about a month now and I am finding that my 8' push pole is too short for push poling in the 6-12" waters of the Mosquito Lagoon flats. I can't paddle there as it makes way too much noise trying to move this barge. Has anyone had any success with a longer push pole/stake out pole?

You can pedal in water that deep... short strokes. One foot forward to half way back sort of thing?

An 8' pole is too short for any kind of standup poling, I'd think. When I lived there, I used a 15' push pole for my little 12' duck boat and found it just about right for the Lagoon shallows.

I use the 8' park n' pole from Yakattack in Charlotte Harbor and the flats of Lemon Bay with no trouble at all.

I use the Super-Stick 6-12' telescoping push pole in the Lagoon and on the NMZ…love it
