I don't post much, but have owned a Hobie since the first Outback in '03 and I really appreciate this forum. Great resource.

I recently had to remove the foam blocks inside the hull of my PA14 when I did the steering upgrade.
My wife threw them out thinking they were packing material.

Any reason to replace them?
Are they there to maintain hull shape or provide emergency flotation?
