I velcro mine on the left sidewall. Easy access, yet out of the way. It doesn't get in the way of my rods either, since I don't store them in the rod holders. They all stay behind me.

For freshwater I use a Hawg Trough that I store on the YakAttack BlackPak using the Y/A Hawg Trough mounts. I use a para-cord leash as this board will sink in no time.

For salt water I use a DIY "Mudfish fish Jig" http://www.jaxkayakfishing.com/phpBB/topic23479.html that I store to the side of the seat...somewhat out of the way. No leash, as the poly-board floats.

Hey Greg
If you put some of that foam installation in the groves on the bottom it should float

I simply drilled a 5/16" diameter hole in the end of the hawg trough, cut a 3' long, 1/4" diameter nylon line, fed it through the hole and tied a figure 8 knot....on the other end, I tied a bowline to a quick snap brass clamp....I installed a 1/4" nylon line across/in front of the seat where the quick snap is secured....this allows plenty of slack so you can use the hawg trough and not lose it overboard...no need for flotation.
I also connect to the "across/in front of my seat line" using quick snaps, the line I added to my net, fish rag, fish bonker and lip gripper...it's very handy and nothing gets lost overboard.

I have the same measuring device that LtFireDog has (yellow one) and I just slide it under the bungies for the front lid. It is a stretch to reach it when needed but it is out of the way when not needed.

Instead of a separate measuring board mounted some where has anyone ever thought about just using self adhesive measuring tape ( you can get it at fabric stores like joann fabrics).
Just affix it to something already on the kayak in a handy spot. Like on a revo it could be stuck to the gunwale of the boat right next to you. On my TI I have a PVC pole just behind my seat for my light and diving and safety flags (we spearfish), just stick the tape to the side of the pole or the side of your paddle. We often take a catch cooler, you cold just stick the tape across the lid.
One less thing to have to carry around (or forget to bring along) if it's always on the boat. I tend to lose stuff like that overboard so the less I have to carry the better.
Just a thought
Bob
