Had the leaning bar out in salt water for one trip and when we got back in we rinsed everything off like we always do but the next time I went to use the leaning bar a week later the bearings in the pins had all rusted stuck. Is there a better pin that can be used in the place of the original ones that really seem to be poor quality? It seems if you pay that much for a product it should not fail after one usse.

Sometimes machine cutting tools leave carbon residue that can seep rust, but sand and salty dust can also deposit rust-able elements on stainless products. Thus leaving a rusty look. Hard to say, but in any case, oil with something like break free or WD-40 would help.

If the metals are simply wrong. We need to know, so give any defective one back to your dealer to return to us for inspection. We need to know if our vendors have changed something. Try a magnet on the part to check for proper stainless steel elements... they should not react to the magnet... very much.

Thanks Matt. I will take the leaning bar into Austin Canoe and Kayak and have them look at it, they have always provided me with awesome service and I feel confident they will make it right.
