Hey everyone. I'm getting my Pro Angler 14 in a couple of weeks and I need help on selecting the proper push pole length. What size push pole would you guys recommend? I am 6'0 tall.

I use a homemade 12' push pole on my PA12. It made up of three 4' sections and I am considering making it 16'. I'm only 5'8", but I use it when I'm up on my badass custom casting platform. Hope this helps.

Great job on the push pole. Have to ask, what materials did you use to make the pole? Could you list them? Looks like a great DIY project.

I searched some time for a good push pole that wasn't a million bucks and I eventually decided to make my own. The pole sections are fiberglass tubing that are 4' long and have a 1 inch inside diameter. I have a bunch of anodized aluminum tubing from homebuilt aircraft projects so I cut some 1 inch outside diameter stock into short sections to join the fiberglass poles together. I used pop rivets to secure them to the poles. Once fitted together I drilled holes for some spring clips to hold them together, just like the ones that are used to join a kayak paddle. The foot is simply PVC pipe fittings that are glued together and also riveted to the poles.

Thanks for the supply list. I'll have to look into a source for the fibergalss tubing. I saw the airplane in the background, cool stuff, but I think the scooter is more my speed. Your standup platform looks interesting, probably wounldn't work for this wobbly old guy. Tight lines.
